 | | Welcome! This site provides university students with an insight into the dynamic, demanding and fast-moving world of energy commodities trading. The BP Graduate Trading Game is designed to encourage learning about the energy commodities market; as well as providing information on BP, our trading activities and our graduate recruitment scheme. This game is not used as a selection tool. If you have any suggestions or comments, please email tradinggame@bp.com. The energy commodities markets, and the oil market in particular, significantly impact the world economy and our day-to-day lives. However, they tend not to be as well understood by university students as the equity and debt markets.
We’ve designed this game to be a simple representation of what is happening in the oil market today. You will have the ability to trade live futures prices for ICE Brent Futures and ICE Gasoil Futures over a period of a few weeks.
We will help you out with some daily news written by our in-house analytical teams, and some historical price analysis. You will be free to research as far and wide as you like, and use what you find to influence your trading decisions. You can make your trading decisions in either 5 minutes or 5 hours, although we think you should be able to be successful by looking at your positions for 10-15 minutes a few days a week.

The
"Trading Room" is where you find out prices, decide what your trading position should
be, enter trades, and manage your portfolio.

There are unfortunately no prizes on offer for this game. . However, through playing the game you can improve your understanding of how to interpret market signals, and how to make profitable trading decisions. You will also learn more about trading at BP, which will hopefully prompt you to apply for our Graduate Trader Development Scheme.
